Steps To Work:
Elle Enterprises delivers the Steps to Work Programme in the Coleraine¸ Ballymoney and Ballymena Council areas in partnership with both Network Personnel & TWL (Prime Contractors).
Steps to Work is a flexible approach to assist people who are unemployed or economically inactive to find and sustain employment. It helps individuals find work by offering a wide range of employment and support opportunities. The Training Team at Elle Enterprises will support participants with the following:
- Work Experience in a quality Work Placement.
- Assistance with Numeracy and Literacy Skills.
- Support with Job Search.
- Guidance as you undertake Qualifications.
- Ongoing individually tailored support from the Training Team.
Steps to Work is delivered in a 3-step approach. Elle Enterprises offers the following elements of the Programme.
STEP ONE:
Core Gateway - A short Course aimed at improving your chances of getting a job. The Course is made up of various short modules¸ which include identifying the type of work you are interested in and helping with Jobsearch activity.
The Modules include:
- CV Building.
- Employability Skills.
- Interview Skills.
- Jobsearch.
- Completing Application Forms.
- Introduction to I.T. and Internet use.
Confidence Building: - A short Course aimed at improving a participant’s confidence and motivation to help create a positive attitude to work. This Course can last up to 10 days.
Short Accredited Training (SAC): - These Courses can last up to 10 days and are aimed at those who are largely job ready but lack a specific Vocational Skill or Qualification¸ which would enhance their prospects of finding and sustaining a job. The objective of SAC is to increase the employability of participants by giving them the opportunity to update existing occupational skills or develop new occupational skills and obtain a recognised Qualification.
STEP TWO:
Step 2 is aimed at assisting those customers who require additional support to move closer to the labour market. Participants can choose from a range of elements:
Essential Skills : During this option participants will address their Numeracy and or Literacy needs as well as undertaking a Work Placement. This option can last for up to 26 weeks.
Qualifications : During this option participants will undertake a Vocationally Related Qualification (V.R.Q.) at Level 2 or 3 and lasting up to 26 weeks whilst attending a Work Placement. Participants may complete units of an (N.V.Q.) where these contribute to the achievement of a full National Vocational Qualification.
N.V.Q. : During this strand¸ participants will complete a full National Vocational Qualification (N.V.Q.) Level 2 from a core list of occupational areas. Like the above options¸ participants will also undertake a Work Placement and this strand can last for up to 52 weeks.
Back To Work (BTW) : During this strand participants will undertake a Work Placement for up to 13 weeks in the Community/Voluntary/Public or Private sector.
STEP THREE:
Step 3 elements are for those who have not found work after participating in Step 2 who may need continued assistance from an Adviser.
The Adviser will provide support aimed at helping you use your newly acquired skills to maximise your chances of finding a job.
This Step can include access to Core Gateway Modules¸ SAC or the balance of provision which the participant has not previously accessed in Step 1.
